are there levels? or is it like DF where u lvl skills?
for me DF was like a fulltime job, i had to have gear on just in order to go chop wood, then go make arrows to lvl up skills, had to be prepared to lose all my gear, mounts etc at all times - is MO gonna be like that(so much preparation)? - or can i just pick up and play and have fun?
They planning on making that main skills take 2 weeks casual play (2-3 hours a day) to max. Lesser skills will take longer. There is a skill point cap, so unlike DF you will make kind of class templates, you can't have every skill. Which gives diversity instead of DFs everyone is the same.
Crafting isn't fully implemented yet, but atm it takes about 30 mins to harvest and craft a full set of armor and weaps. Not too bad.
Also, they are putting in consequences for being red. Statloss upon death, which you will need to skill up again. obviously guild wars dont give you murder tags. They are also looking to make it that if you go red enough times your char becomes perma-red. Problem with DF is it doesn't give a choice of playstyle. I'ts pure pvp, which is ok, but, for me gets boring after a
while. Theres blue, grey and red. Grey you get from hitting someone, stealing loot without contributing damage, thieving (from other players with pickpocket) or robbing houses. You can kill greys without taking a murder tag.
Character skills will have less meaning than DFs system in fights. They also supporting multiple char accounts over single chars.
