Ok so this is just a little rant about the pvp systems of both games.

I will start out with WoW because I know the most about this.

pros

- Arena gave new light to dull BG grinding
- Multiple battlegrounds for players to explore
- All levels of players in arena that match you up as close to your "skill" level as possible.
- Fun. Fast. Enjoyable

cons

- Almost all players have become cookie cutter specs
- When you get to higher level arena you fight only 4-5 teams over and over
- Really no point to BG anymore
- They took out the competitiveness of BGs when title ranks were removed

ok now for WAR (now I am basing some of this off of DAoC)

pros

- Competitive PVP
- Ranking system has a point
- Realm levels (if they are in WAR) = VARIETY
- World PVP based
- Controlling and destroying your opponents (not just to make them pissed)
- Keep fights. siege weapons!

cons

- laggy (at least DAOC was you knew when a battle was coming)
- some classes are OP or UP (its not even released. will be balanced im sure)
- Once highest realm rank is gained not too much else to strive for
- (this is just a comment) Hoping they do not have Item Levels like Trials of Atlantis, that was the downfall of DAoC.

Conclusion -

Both games of course have the ups and downs. I have become very bored of the PVP in WoW. It was dull to me once they took out the competitiveness of the title ranks. Also they really should change the talents people never put into, to add some variety.

I am very excited about WAR, and I hope it succeeds. It will put WoW to the test I can tell you that much.

My only concern is that people will not want to leave their highly geared characters and guilds, but then again look what happened to EQ. It was almost wiped out by DAoC except for the hardcore players that for some reason still played with only 300 people online.
