Very nice find. Yes there are a few bugs ig atm and some game breaking bugs but.....
If they start to settle down and get fixed over the next couple of months, then it's all good in my books.

Most people are giving Funcom benefit of the doubt as of this moment aswell by continueing their subscriptions. All in all indeed a very nice read, a nice clarification on the matter. Seeing how much the game already differs from the time it was released a month ago, I'd say we're well on our way.. But yeah when WotLK comes out, I think a lot of people will put AoC on hold and see what its like. Funcom has a challenge ahead to make sure AoC will be more attractive for its audience then Wrath of the Lich King.

Nice article, altho he doesnt really state anything new. Alot of companies release too early and quite a few have failed, ex. Vanguard . For the time being the only thing im looking forward to is Warhammer as they have the luck to have EA to back them up and are not pressured to release the game before its "ready".

I wouldn't say having EA on board is anything to boast about. The only thing they have going for em is lots of $$$$$$$

Very interesting read. It does put a certain perspective on what pressures were brought to bear to release what is essentially a broken game.

It doesn't help the case for the defence though, when trivia is extended upon and the most basic fundamental building blocks on which characters rely are broken.

I have no faith in my stats actually functioning as they are intended. Dexterity for example is claimed to add evade, yet this is not reflected in the gui. But fear not - we have added TWO , yes TWO new dance routines. You only need one point in casting concentration and you will never be interrupted, oh and btw , we added a particle effect for golden lotus extract.

I paid 6 months up front. I'll hang in there, I really want this game to work. But at the moment I can't help feeling that Funcom have behaved like a thief in the night. Shame on them, and shame on their poorly coded, cranky game engine, their preposterous idea of itemisation, their shabby treatment of paying customers, their sleight of hand and propensity to be economical with the truth.

swg took about 1 year to become good, most mmos take time to develop and mature...

I have no doubt that the potential of this game (and it is enormous) will be realised in time. This, to an extent, I am prepared to give. As are many people. It's very frustrating however to see glaring bugs being given (what appears to be) less priority than updating or 'improving' trivia.

Adding some new dance routines, or a new particle effect for example. This is using engineer time that is needed elsewhere, and ultimately must delay (I don't care by how little) fixes for issues such as, grey maps, the infamous group bug and female attack speed.

It took Funcom a long time and an exponentially growing forum post count on the issue to even admit that there was a problem with female attack speed. They were eventually cornered into giving an exact fix status and description of the problem. I wish they would do similar, and prepare a 'to do' list and an eta on each major issue. Come clean, people appreciate honesty, we want to love this game, we really do.
