What is Age of Conan Quick Start?
Age of Conan Quick Start is a tool to influence the Age of Conan startup. Age of Conan offers several command line switches normal users don't have access to. Using a little trick Age of Conan Quick Start puts you into a position to use any of the otherwise unusable command line switches. Age of Conan Quick Start doesn't modify or even read any processes, files or settings of Age of Conan so it is not banable.

Current features:
- skip all intro movies
- adjust Windows scheduler timer settings to improve framerates (FPS boost)
- delete local shader caches before startup
- adjust process priorities and enable dynamic thread boosts
- adjust Age of Conan's processor affinities

I tested it about 3 days ago, almost no noticeeable FPS boost, but other features seems to work fine, aka no more fucking annoying advert movies each time you launch the game.

I haven't used it yet, I'm still at work and just found out about it today. For me though, I'm not too bothered about the boost in FPS...the bypassing of the movies for a quicker launch is fine for me.

I thought it wasn't allowed to bypass the movies and launcher, would that make this addon illegal?

Funcom asked me to remove the auto login feature because of the open source nature of the project. It is just to easy for a phisher to get the Age of Conan Quick Start source code and create and distribute a "trojanized" version of it. Version 2.0:
- added a little GUI to configure all available options
- added FPS booster function based on the timeBeginPeriod trick
- added auto login feature
- removed old hooking code that is no longer neccessary with the new method

Version 1.3:
- switched from API hooking to the new method of execution interception

Version 1.2:
- changed the injecting method so it doesn't has the potential of crashing the entire OS anymore

Version 1.1:
- added a permanent hooking mode so no loader is available anymore
- changed hooking engine to an open source engine
- added a setup

Version 1.0:
- initial release

If you look at the above patch notes, the bold text in particular, it would seem Funcom have looked at this mod. If it was illegal, I doubt they would allow it to continue.

I thought this was pretty pointless until I read that part about auto-login. Because quick-clicking the intro movies is minor, and the "timer adjustment" seemed questionable. But with the auto-login, this program would be nice.

I'll try and find the old source code when I get home ^_^
